No Fans Records

The home of Richard Youngs

No Fans Records started in 1990 as a statement of fact. Faced with universal indifference to my music, vanity publishing was my only option. It remains dedicated to my own recordings. "Youngs offers all of himself to the listener, answering his own questions via multi-track, even while sometimes punctuating proceedings with piercing feedback. He admits to wilfulness – indeed, parts may sound to the less enamoured like he has hurt some delicate member of his anatomy – but the pieces form part of an earnest and highly personal musical quest which would have continued even if the fans remained non-existent."  - Phil Smith, Record Collector on No Fans Compendium.
